Clusty

Posted by HelloHere's an interesting search engine. I like the list on the left side that categorizes the search. So instead of searching 102,987 hits, I can pick a category. This is still in beta, butI see they even have wikipedia on their tab

Well I am using it now and am impressed. I can even get definitions by holding Ctrl and clicking a word. And what I searched for (cross stictch patterns of State birds) gave me easier to use results than Google. Now of course, it works with Firefox and IE, but NOT Opera, Oh well. With Clusty I can go to a web page from the search and hit a button on top with my different search words and it will highlight the spot on the web page.

I downloaded the Firefox edition and it is a nice bar on the browser. To me, it makes Google seem as out of touch as other "old" search engines. Google had better get with it and make my searching faster and more organized!

BTW, isn't Google working on online texts now? I know France is up in arms (of course) over their suspected takeover of culture! That's why I like the Gutenberg Project. It's been going since 1971 and now they supply sheet music and books in all kinds of laguages. When I want a book to read it's my library of choice! And one of their download sights is right here in Blacksburg.

I'm telling you, this is great. I can cluster searches by topic, URL,or source. This really leaves Google in the dust (to me). There is even a customize tab that can be used add seaches. And it has a minimode so the bar doesn't always have to be visible.

Am I behind the times on this?
